Troika is lexicon that has entered every Irish man and woman’s speech. It’s a word that we didn’t understand and possibly never heard of over four years ago. Now it’s used daily. So what is it?

Europe’s Troika consists of the European Central Bank, the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund. The Troika is the face of the EU’s Bail out programmes, regularly visiting European countries in economic trouble including Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Greece.
