This week we spoke to Martina Kee from the European Consumer Centre Ireland about the recent Air Passenger Rights Report 2015 titled, ‘Do Consumers get the compensation they are entitled to and at what costs?’ that was launched by ECC- Net (European Consumer Centres Network)
The report found that lack of awareness about air passenger rights, as well as problems with compliance by airlines and effective enforcement, has led to some consumers turning to private complaint management companies to pursue claims for compensation in cases of delayed and cancelled flights. This is costing consumers at least 20 per cent of the full compensation they are entitled to under EU law and, in some cases, additional costs are also added.
A very big thank you to all at ECC Ireland and especially Martina.
